Luxury Bathroom Renovations in Tasmania

Award-winning bathroom renovations across Tasmania — the most detailed room in the home, built to the standard that's won us Bathroom of the Year.

A bathroom is the most detail-dense room in a home — waterproofing, stone, joinery, lighting and ventilation all resolving in a few square metres, where craftsmanship shows or it doesn't. Zanetto Builders designs and renovates luxury bathrooms across Tasmania to a standard that's earned multiple HIA Bathroom of the Year honours, including Bathroom of the Year over $50,000.

The bathroom is where a renovation is won or lost. Everything is concentrated — waterproofing, tiling, stone, joinery, tapware, lighting and ventilation all meeting in a small, unforgiving space. Get any of it slightly wrong and it shows every day; get it right and it's the room that makes the whole home feel considered.

We renovate and build bathrooms to the same exacting standard as our award-winning homes — whether it's a single stunning ensuite or part of a full home renovation. It's craftsmanship you can see in the reveals, the stonework and the way everything lines up, and it's why our bathrooms keep winning their category.

How we build a bathroom

Waterproofing done right

The part no one sees is the part that matters most. Meticulous waterproofing and falls, done properly, are the difference between a bathroom that lasts decades and one that fails in years.

Stone & joinery

Book-matched stone, custom vanities and precise joinery, set out so grout lines, edges and fixtures align — the detailing that turns a bathroom into a centrepiece.

Lighting & ventilation

Layered lighting that flatters the materials, and ventilation that keeps the room dry and mould-free long after the renovation is finished.

Resolved as one room

Tapware, tiles, stone, lighting and joinery selected and installed to read as a single, deliberate design — not a collection of parts.

Award-winning bathrooms

Our bathrooms don't just look the part — they've been judged the best in the state. The Curve won HIA Tasmania's Bathroom of the Year, and Bathroom of the Year over $50,000. Villa Donini took Bathroom of the Year, plus Interior Design and Interior Cabinetry honours.

That recognition is for exactly the things you can't fake in a bathroom: the waterproofing beneath, the precision of the stone and joinery, and the resolve of the whole room. See more in our bathroom portfolio.

Why Zanetto Builders

A bathroom rewards a builder who sweats the detail, and detail is our obsession. With multiple Bathroom of the Year honours and an open-book process, we bring the craftsmanship of an award-winning home builder to the most demanding room in the house.

Why do bathrooms fail in Tasmania’s climate?

Moisture, mostly. Tasmania is cold and damp for a good part of the year, and the bathroom is where a home’s moisture concentrates. Warm steam meets cold surfaces, condensation forms, and if the waterproofing, the falls or the ventilation are wrong, the damage starts behind the tiles — where nobody sees it until it’s expensive.

So we build the unseen layers first and hardest. Waterproofing detailed and checked before a single tile goes on. Falls that actually drain. Extraction sized for a Tasmanian winter, not a mainland one. It’s the same thinking that runs through our healthy homes work: control the moisture and the room gets to last.

Then the visible work — stone, joinery, tiling and setout — gets the same discipline. Grout lines land where they should. Edges align. The room reads as one design, not a collection of parts.

Which awards have your bathrooms actually won?

The ones judged on exactly this. The Curve won HIA Tasmania’s Bathroom of the Year and Bathroom of the Year over $50,000 in 2025. Villa Donini won HIA Tasmania’s Bathroom of the Year over $30,000 in 2024, and Master Builders Tasmania’s Bathroom Project award the same year. The full list is on our awards page, and the rooms themselves are in our bathroom portfolio — judge them for yourself.

We don’t list those to boast. A bathroom is the hardest room in a house to get right, and independent judging is the closest thing this industry has to proof.

What does a bathroom renovation cost in Tasmania?

It depends on the room, which is why we won’t give you a square-metre guess. Every bathroom we price is costed from its actual design and selections, using the same estimating engine behind our 48-hour feasibility: more than 90 cost categories, labour back-costed from over $20 million of completed Tasmanian homes, and two quotes from every subcontract trade. Our margin is a 10% target net profit, published in plain English on our pricing page, and the whole method is explained in The Perfect Estimate.

If the bathroom is one part of a larger job, our home renovations service covers how we stage the rest of the house around it. Either way, the standard is the same one that wins the awards — because in a wet room, the standard is the product.

Zanetto Builders holds Tasmanian building licence CC7565 and is a member of Master Builders Tasmania, the HIA and the Australian Passive House Association — a team recognised with 26 state and national building awards, including the 2026 HIA Australian GreenSmart Home of the Year. Frequently asked questions

Luxury Bathroom Renovations in Tasmania — your questions answered

How much does a bathroom renovation cost in Tasmania?+

It depends entirely on scale and specification — a considered luxury bathroom with stone, custom joinery and quality tapware sits well above a basic refit. We price every bathroom from its actual design and selections, so you get a real number rather than a misleading headline rate.

Do you do standalone bathroom renovations, or only full homes?+

Both. We take on standalone bathroom and ensuite renovations as well as bathrooms within a full home renovation — to the same award-winning standard either way.

Why is the bathroom the hardest room to get right?+

Because everything is concentrated in a small, wet, unforgiving space: waterproofing, falls, stone, joinery, tapware, lighting and ventilation all have to resolve together and stay watertight for decades. There's nowhere to hide a compromise, which is exactly why craftsmanship matters most here.

What makes your bathrooms award-winning?+

The things beneath and behind the finish — meticulous waterproofing, precise stone and joinery, and a room resolved as a single design. Our bathrooms have won HIA Tasmania Bathroom of the Year honours, including Bathroom of the Year over $50,000, for exactly that.

Can you help with the design and selections?+

Yes — through Kyle Zanetto Design & Interiors we can help resolve the layout, stone, joinery and finishes so the whole room reads as one deliberate design, then build it to match.
