What will it cost to build my architect’s plans in Tasmania?
You can know within 48 hours. Send us your drawings — concept or fully documented, from any architect or designer — and our estimating team returns a feasibility within 10% of your real build cost, in two days. Not a square-metre rate with a disclaimer: a costing across more than 90 categories, with labour back-costed from over $20 million of completed Tasmanian homes and material quantities measured from a 3D model of your home. The 48-hour feasibility works on any plans, and the whole method is laid out in The Perfect Estimate.
That number matters most early. If the plans are over budget, you want to find out now — while your designer can still adjust — not at tender, after the documentation money is spent.
How do you keep the price honest?
Two ways. First, we obtain two quotes from every subcontract trade on the job, so no trade price goes unchallenged. Second, we run the tender open-book: you see the labour build-up, the material quantities and rates, the subcontractor quotes, and our margin — a 10% target net profit, published on our pricing page before you sign anything. There’s no “commercial in confidence” between us and the person paying for the home.
Will you try to change our design?
No. Build-only means build-only. Your architect or designer stays central; we raise buildability questions through them, not around them. Our job is to protect the design intent — with real numbers, careful sequencing and construction that matches the drawings.
That extends to performance. Our team holds 13 Certified Passive House Tradesperson qualifications and has delivered around $8 million of Passive House projects — meet the certified Passive House team. If your documentation specifies airtightness, thermal continuity or junction detailing, it gets built as modelled, not “near enough”.
If you don’t have plans yet and want design and construction under one roof, that’s our design and construct service instead. But if the drawings are done, the next step is simple: see how our process runs from plan review to handover, look at the finished work in our portfolio, and get your number. The design is yours. The build should be worthy of it.
