The Director’s own home in Launceston — and a nationally awarded one. Asgard is the ultimate test of everything Zanetto Builders stands for: the builder’s own family home, put entirely in the team’s hands.
The brief
There’s no harder brief than your own home. Asgard was built for Kyle Zanetto and his family — which meant the same care, precision and craftsmanship we bring to every client’s build, applied where there was nowhere to hide and no one else to answer to. As Kyle puts it, there’s no better way to judge a builder than to put your own family’s home in their hands: from the first line on the plans to the final handover, the team had to prove that the standard we promise is the standard we live in.
The build
Designed with Honed and Kyle Zanetto Design & Interiors, and photographed by Tassie Visuals, Asgard is a showcase of Australian-made materials and considered detailing from end to end — from the joinery through to the laundry, a room most builds treat as an afterthought and this one turned into an award-winner. The wet areas were resolved to the same exacting standard: the main bathroom pairs a sculptural freestanding tub and floating vanity with warm timber against honed stone, while the master ensuite runs honed stone, a floating stone-topped vanity, twin rainfall showers and backlit joinery — each detailed enough to stand as a portfolio project in its own right.
The result
Asgard went on to win the national Master Builders Australia award for Best Use of Australian Made Products (2024) — alongside the Master Builders Tasmania state award, Best Use of Australian Made Products – Residential (2024), and HIA Tasmania’s Laundry of the Year (2024). National recognition for a home built to prove a point: that we treat every client’s home exactly the way we treated our own. Watching the team work on his own home, Kyle says, reminded him exactly why he trusts them with everyone else’s.
