About Asgard

Located in the Tasmanian city of Launceston, Asgard is a nationally recognized award winning home and follows an intuitive spatial layout. Entering the home and veering right, residents reach an open plan living, kitchen and dining area that flows out onto a covered alfresco space. Within the gently defined zonal sequence, an electric fireplace, set of electric blinds and double-glazed windows featuring a double grey tint for privacy sit as discreet nods to both luxury and functionality. Left of the entryway, a long hallway is flanked on one side by two bedrooms, a bathroom and a cinema room, whilst on the other, a Japanese garden provides a calming natural space. The far end of the house is dedicated to a laundry room – detailed with stone benchtops and a double sink – as well as the master bedroom and ensuite.  Externally,

a spa area and lawn complete the property.

Key Feature

Australian timber forms the basis of the material palette, juxtaposing polished concrete and ample glazing. With over 2.5km of Australian Blackbutt used and featured within secret doors, the garage door, the façade and all of the joinery the attention to detail in execution of this material was vital in the delivery of this Forever Home.

Highlights

In a manner indicative of the Zanetto Builders philosophy, Asgard matches aesthetic Custom recessed lighting and groove-lined feature walls maximise the sense of space enabled by the 2.7-metre-high ceilings. In the kitchen, seamlessly integrated appliances form discreet complements to a striking five-metre snow stone island bench and 64- bottle wine rack.

The bathrooms express a generous design approach with floor-to-ceiling Italian tiles, double shower heads, heated floors and stone vanity tops. Whilst the master bedroom is crafted with a built-in walk-in wardrobe, the ensuite is elevated by the addition of a skylight that allows natural light to flood the space. The home is configured to embrace the direction of incoming sunlight throughout the day, providing the means to regulate internal temperature – soffits are included to protect the timber cladding from the damaging effects of UV rays. Also enhancing thermal activity, ducted heating with recessed linear grills is applied to every room of the house and the roof features a double cavity batten design which promotes drainage and drying. Countering the surround sound system installed in the media room, acoustic insulation is fitted into all internal and external walls. A Samsung smart lock with fingerprint and code access protects Asgard’s interiority.
